At the Product Distribution Center, the Inventory Control Manager is responsible for developing and implementing inventory controls, policies, standard procedures, systems, and best practices for the purpose of maintaining accurate financial inventory information. This position analyzes and interprets data and trends and recommends solutions for inventory deficiencies. Maintain a high level of inventory data integrity throughout the warehouse and retail locations. Coordinates with all departments to reduce shrink in the company & investigate the nature and source of errors and report the findings to prevent re-occurrence.
The ICM will coordinate with the Distribution Center Operations team and Finance to ensure a robust and cohesive cycle count program and practices are in place and adhered to. Will serve as the primary point of contact for all Finance inventory control-related issues. They will support the distribution center with a host of analytical and data-driven continuous improvement opportunities and project management assistance.
Below are some key tasks and responsibilities, covering this role that are performed on a daily or weekly basis:
Lead efforts to coordinate with Management on inventory reconciliations and cycle counts
Responsible for managing daily inventory transactions; goods receipts and outgoing shipments to suppliers
Provide and support several types of reports and KPI’s as it relates to inventory management activities
Constant communication with key stakeholders and management
Understand, communicate and track gaps in inventory processes and transactions
Must possess strong customer service skills, demonstrate good judgement, tact, and diplomacy in dealing with internal and external customers
Strong analytical and problem solving skills that can properly collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
Research inconsistencies around inventory discrepancies and facilitate any non-conforming receipts
Ability to work independently toward defined goals and maintain procurement goals at the highest level

Core Responsibilities:
Manages, coaches, and develops the Inventory Control Team to deliver the highest quality service to Operations while maintaining inventory accuracy above 99.0+% in all stocking locations
Oversee the Warehouse cycle counting, Retail location auditing, and inventory control practices & procedures to maintain accuracy and assure compliance with audit requirements
Responsible for the day-to-day operations of DC support functions, including but not limited to; inventory control, quality assurance, space management, logistics, and returns
Identify and determine root causes of inventory deviation through cause-and-effect analysis using continuous improvement methodologies
Design, review and modify inventory audit criteria, processes, procedures, and reports for the purpose of improving and/or maintaining inventory accuracy
Review, analyze and develop action plans for reducing customer return defects based on data captured and reported by the team
Facilitate and/or lead various teams and initiatives in the improvement of DC support and core operational processes to create and promote an environment where employees are involved, empowered, and committed to the success of the DC
Assist in the review and development of standard work instructions and practices
Responsible for tracking, researching, reporting & completing the monthly not-in-location (NIL) write off
Coordinate with all warehouse locations, and retail stores to assure inventory accuracy and effective transfer practices
Responsible for training, documentation, and implementation of best practices with respect to inventory control
Identify, research & resolve inventory discrepancies within the warehouse
Coordinate and manage daily physical and perpetual cycle counting efforts
Report, monitor, and review daily inventory adjustments and changes
Resolve inventory issues/discrepancies, problem orders, and intercompany transfer issues
Conduct daily analyses to anticipate and resolve potential inventory problems
Report on inventory activities, changes, and variances, including trends and root cause analysis
Develop inventory control procedures and best practices
Train distribution and receiving managers on inventory control practices and procedures
Recommend process changes to minimize inventory loss
Act as the liaison between the corporate and distribution center for product changes, quality, and other inventory-related issues
Lead, develop and mentor the inventory team
Assist with projects as needed
Implements and manages product return policy
Manages obsolescence to meet and exceed KPIs
Responsible for the implementation and direction of new inventory systems and processes
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Extensive knowledge of inventory management theories, principles, methods, and practices
Maintain Cycle Count System
Maintain records as required
Generate Cycle Counts as required
Monitor timeliness and accuracy of cycle counts
Review variances as required
Prepare reports as required
Perform personnel-related duties for department personnel as required (i.e., hiring, discipline, reviews, training, work direction, etc.)
Monitor Daily Shipping Reports and ensure goals are met
Monitor Daily work requirements and assign duties as required
Maintain area housekeeping, policies, and procedures
Requirements:
The Inventory Control Manager position requires 10+ years’ experience with a bachelor’s degree with a focus on business/management curriculum or Finance
Minimum of eight years of inventory control experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
